I'm doing that thing where I day dream about Vanessa again.
I was going to write a full future fic for her but couldn't figure out many specifics.
Long story short after a bumply career in various gossip magazines and free newspapers Vanessa sets up her own magazine using all the 'lessons' she learnt at school. She's still with Lucy (after a couple more rough patches) and the two of them are debating getting married but neither of them have got round to popping the question yet, plus they've never had a problem living in sin before, why should a little law change change that? Vanessa's Mom still disproves of everything she does but spends most of her time fussing over her little sister who is now also at VA. :)
